“There WAS no JUNGLE JIM between 35-03-31 and 35-05-19! It looks like Raymond focused only on the one strip for those weeks before going to tabloid for both strips on 35-05-19. So there are fewer tabloid-only JUNGLE JIMs than there are of FLASH GORDON.
The final panel of 35-03-31 has Joan escaping, and the fourth panel of 35-05-19 states “Meanwhile Joan has escaped…” Likewise when we last saw Jim, he had been shot, and in 35-05-19 it states “Jim escapes and, while attempting to rescue his companions, is shot by a sniping native….” ”
